Talis, the Outcast Drow Empty
PostSubject: Talis, the Outcast Drow   Talis, the Outcast Drow EmptyThu Nov 04, 2010 5:40 pm

Drow society is one that promotes power and ambition, yet is often devoid of the feelings of accomplishment and righteousness that often times comes with those deeds. However, there is one member of a rather established family that is the exception to the rule. Kaellara was always one to make her presence known, as well as her intentions of power and position within the family. She was born the youngest daughter and therefore felt that it was her duty to ensure that both her family stay above the rest, if only to ensure that her climb to power would be a swift as possible. Though despite the best of intentions, her mother did not look favorably upon her attitude and the way in which she interacted with the people around her.

Because most Drow did their best not to interact with her (mainly for fear of death or some sort of twisted reasoning of retribution against them), Kaellara often took on various different personas and appearances. She became very capable of coming up with an entire life story in a single moment and convincing people, even those who had interacted with her on multiple occasions, of her propaganda. This talent was used to get close to the people who she needed to, despite them keeping a watchful eye of her wrath. Including her own family.

Where most Drow are very reserved and careful in their social interactions, Kaellara was very eccentric and boasted about her undertakings quite often, often times prior to the act itself. Point in fact; she had talked of her own mother’s assassination nearly two years before committing the act, right on the steps of the Temple of Lloth. This act placed Kaellara as the head of the family and began a straight and much accelerated track to power and infamy. And she handled every other political and social hurdle with just as much tact and subtlety as she had with her own mother; if ever a person crossed her or stood in her way without forfeiting their position, she would simply murder them where they stood or burn down their entire dwelling…family and all. Oh yes, she also quite enjoyed the art of arson and this skill frequently.

Eventually Kaellara climbed the ranks of the Drow armies and reached the prestigious rank of Captain, holding command over two of the eight legions. There were three others who held her ranking, one superior Lieutenant and then the Queen. Kaellara would do anything within her ability (and possibly within other’s abilities) to make sure that there was nobody that could give her orders and commands, and ensure that people fulfilled her wishes and not the other way around.

And then the time came; Kaellara was assigned with leading the attack on Kaeldarin and attempting to once and for all destroy the human city that had caused them so much disgrace these hundreds of years. Though the Queen gave her a stipulation – She was to prove herself in battle and destroy Kaeldarin and, in turn, the hope and heart of every other human on Illdarin…or she would be banished from the Underdark for the rest of her miserable existence. Kaellara had yet failed at any task she had put in motion and was not about to begin here. She had climbed her way through her family hierarchy, over every political obstacle, and finally within footholds of the top of the mountain. This would be her chance to launch to the peak and look down on everyone who had stood in her way…and burn them all. The line of the Inlindl would live through her and only her. Either she would continue the existence of the Drow or they would all end.
