Amberstone, Harbor in the Mountains Empty
PostSubject: Amberstone, Harbor in the Mountains   Amberstone, Harbor in the Mountains EmptyWed Jan 05, 2011 10:05 pm

Not so much a city, but rather a wide grouping of villages, towns, and encampments nestled away in the ridges of the Shimmer Ridge of the Breach. Originally this camp started out as a place where the forces of the dwarven army could rest and recuperate, though eventually the citizens who had been taken into the ranks of the military dropped their weapons and picked up their hammers, needles, and pots to create a disorganized village. Now this place of refuge has began to grow and, in collaboration with the gnomes, halfings, and more recently the newly civilized races of the gobbers and ogrun, the small camp has become a fortified town. While word spreads throughout the western lands of this dark world that there is a glimmer of light known as Amberstone, people from all over are flocking to this place of protection; behind the walls built by the Hammerfoot.

Along with the main fortification, and with the collective assistance from all of the races of the rebellion, the dwarves have been able to set up camps reaching all the way to the coast, while also straddling the edges of the hobgoblin and drow territories as well. This alliance has been slowly spreading out, though they do realize that every time they build a new camp and spread just a bit further they put everyone at risk of being discovered by the Drow. This risk is something that every person is willing to take for the sliver of hope that this grouping gives the entire land.

The Kharzak clan (a family ever in the forefront of the military, though never thought of as societal frontiersmen) sought to gather members for the counsel that would preside over the people and day-to-day running of the developing town, while the martial of the military, Captain Nan Letoshek, found herself in charge of the militia and town guard. Through this building of military defense while creating a new social order, they hoped to bring back the light of humanity to the lands.
