Bellagard, the City of Small Wonders Empty
PostSubject: Bellagard, the City of Small Wonders   Bellagard, the City of Small Wonders EmptyMon Jan 31, 2011 7:17 pm

Even before the war between the humans and the dark elves, the town of Bellagard stood. With the city of Keldaerin was known as the main port for trade and travel on the western shores and Rudstow offered safe harbor to those that wished to stay away from the law, the gnomish city was commonly overlooked by most seafaring travelers, so there it stood in the shadows of it's competitors...That is, until the Final War wiped both of them off the face of the map. From that point on Bellagard was heralded as the safe harbor for all travelers looking to brave the oceans, along with any journeymen making their way through the areas surrounding the Evermarsh, between the lands held by the Queen and those of Bloodclaw.

Many years past and the gnomes (and eventually halflings and gobbers that settled alongside them) were generally overlooked by the forces of the dark elves for being no more than tinkerers and busy-bodies; the smaller races were certainly not warriors! Though true to an extent, this did not mean that they could not offer assistance to the other races did were capable of donning a sword and shield. In fact, when the Hammerfoot dwarves (formerly of Deepholme and currently of Amberstone) made their reappearance into the world of man, Bellagard was the first to offer them assistance in rebuilding their home, as well as sharing their inventions and discoveries with that of their stout brethren.

Now Bellagard is a launching point for travelers who wish to either settle into Amberstone or share their goods in assistance with the rebellion (The dwarves are very reluctant in announcing their location, seeing how they are the last of the old races still prevalent in these twisted lands) and the forerunner in development for mechanika to aid in the upcoming war against the dark alliance.
