| They arrived at camp and were quick to settle. It appears that most of the group is simply out for themselves, with little regard for the others. Tallis seems to enjoy playing everyone against each other; she gave the gypsy to the shif Holinn in order to keep him quiet. When Nuru came back with the food, the group made rather short work of it, and afterwards the gypsy put on a show for everyone. Tallis and the the dark-robbed man (his name escapes me, he does not seem too friendly) appeared most enamoured with her dancing. The orc, however, did not seemed pleased with the revelation that he had been traveling with an elf for the better part of the day. Curiously…she seemed to calm him almost immediately, despite the fact that there was an axe blade mere inches from her face.
Everyone retired to their own beds once the meal was through. The self-proclaimed genocidal killer appears to have many words, though little actions. He tossed a few threats at Holinn and even feinted a punch, though held most of his anger for Tallis. Unwise in my opinion. However, this seemed to have been misdirected anger, for he made one swing at her though is was clearly over her head. Camp was set and the musician was wise enough to set an alarm, though the night was relatively peaceful, with everyone staying in their respective sections. Nuru wandered off to scout up ahead, returning in the morning with little noteworthy news. Ogres to the south and hobgoblins to the north as was planned, apparently.
The gypsy was passed around yet again, this time ending up on the end of a chain being held by her would-be attacker; "One Eye" as Tallis calls him. She, alongside the hobgoblin, led her slaves ahead, while most of the mercenaries stayed as far away from her as possible. During the travels down the river in the morning, Tallis’ newly aquired ogre friend made another appearance, though first sending in a large dire creature to hopefully deal some damage. Neither the beast nore they were any match for this group, however. Holinn seemed hesitant to act, even after Tallis unshackled him. Though maybe seeing the stonechild drawing blood gave him some courage to fight. With not even half of a dozen blows apiece each ogre fell, including their leader. I do fear though that the actions (or rather, lack there of) on the part of the mercenaries has landed them in bad favor with their leader. The words she had for the brute, I believe, were only the tip of the spear. | |
